Oak Class - Year 5 and 6

Welcome to Oak class!

We are the Year 5/6 class at Ingham Primary School. This year we will be studying a variety of fascinating topics in our lessons. We enhance our learning through residential visits to Boggle Hole where we will explore a variety of topics such as woodland habitats, seashore exploration, fossils and coastal environments, and also Castleton where the children are physically challenged in a number of activities including caving, abseiling and rock climbing. These will relate to a number of our classroom subjects, including art, science, evolution and geography.

Reminders

  • Our spelling homework is set on Fridays and due back in on Wednesday. This is usually a set of spellings linked to the pattern previously taught in class or the statutory spelling words for Y5/6.
  • Our PE days are Monday and Thursday. Pupils should come to school in their PE kit on these days – please note that only stud earrings are allowed and must be removed or covered in earring tape for our PE lessons. Long hair must be tied back.
  • We encourage children to read their reading book every day and to log on to Times Tables Rock Stars – 3 minutes a day is all it takes to improve your tables! Please encourage your child to bring their reading book to school every day.

Keep up-to-date with our learning progress on our Class Dojo blog.
