Recent Sporting Achievements

22nd February 2018 Ian Tyas Ian Tyas

Over the last term there have been a number of significant sporting achievements where children from the school have shone in various different sports. In every case, as well as their sporting achievements it is the values, sportsmanship and their excellent attitude and behaviour that have shone through. We are very proud of them all!

Swimming Gala

In January, the first Ingham swimming team for many years took part in a gala in Gainsborough.  There were eleven schools of varying sizes competing and we entered a boys and a girls team.

The children were extremely good ambassadors for the school and supported each other throughout.  Their behaviour and attitude on the poolside were matched by their success in the water and they came away with some medals:

In the 'small schools' category, the boys team came away with 1st place and the girls with 3rd place.  Overall, the boys were placed 5th and the girls 10th.  This was a fantastic achievement and we are very proud of all of the children who took part.  A massive thank you to Mrs Woods for her support in pulling the team together and to her, Mr Woods and all the parents who helped on the poolside and offered support.

A huge success!

Gymnastics Competition

Later in January the school's gymnastics squad took part in the Lincolnshire Schools Floor and vault Championships in Grantham.

Again, the children represented the school so well and had some excellent results.

In the under 7's events, the mixed team came 3rd place, with super individual performances from Fleur (2nd place) and Joshua (1st place).

Similarly a fantastic performance from the under 9's with the mixed team taking 1st, with magnificent individual performances from Phoebe (1st place) and Leo (1st place).

A fantastic performance from all of the children who took part who again showed how well they they can compete, often against schools much larger than Ingham.  They too were marvellous ambassadors for the school.

A massive thank you to Mrs Peacock, Mrs Patrick and Mrs Thornton for all the time they spent preparing the children and to them and other parents who supported on the day.

Cross Country

We have a series of cross-country races this term which have started this week.  A fantastic start at the first event in Saxilby where Max came 1st in the boys race!  Congratulations to the Year 4's who are competing above their age-group and doing so well.
