A fun start to the year in Oak Class!
It's been a great start to life in Oak Class this year. The children have come back showing great attitude and enthusiasm towards everything that we have done so far.
Yesterday, we started by discussing the school vision and what the words successful, confident and caring mean to us on a daily basis in class. The children came up with some imaginative ideas and I'm looking forward to seeing them put these things into practice over the course of the year. We ended the day with some P.E and also sorted out things like routines, class jobs etc.
Today, we have begun doing some preparation work for our London trip in three weeks. We found out some facts about London and then presented this information on a poster where we turned the letters (L-O-N-D-O-N) into pictures that showed famous landmarks from the capital. In the afternoon, we looked at some David Hockney pieces of photography and evaluated what we thought of them. We also looked around the school at where we'd like to do our own compositions during the next couple of weeks.
