Sports Premium

At Ingham, we recognise the huge contribution of PE to the health and well-being of our children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children. Our Primary School Sport’s Funding enables us to continue and extend our provision through employing additional sports professionals, entering into more competitive sports competitions and training our staff to deliver in-house quality PE sessions. Ultimately it is about increasing participation in sport both in and out of school.

Sports Premium is funding which is given to every maintained school in the country by the Government, to allow schools to build a legacy from the 2012 Olympic Games and to ensure that all staff are appropriately trained, links are made with local clubs and activities planned for the children to ensure that they stay fit and healthy, especially for those children who wouldn't normally engage with PE and Sport. The funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.

It is statutory for schools to report on how they spend their Sports Premium allocation. You can read about the money we received, how it has been spent and the difference it is making in the reports below..
